Housekeeping Team Lead- HomePort Hotel

Description: 

Homeport Hotel's housekeeping team leads assume supervisory duties on weekends while working as a room attendant during the week. Supervisors oversee the housekeeping/laundry operations to ensure cleanliness standards, policies and procedures are all met. Primarily responsible for inspecting hotel guestrooms and public areas to ensure the hotel is kept spotlessly clean while reporting any maintenance deficiencies. The lead room attendant will have a work schedule of 3 room attendant shifts during the week while becoming a working supervisor over the weekends. This position during the weekends will be responsible for directing and effectively managing the housekeeping department and its employees. The team lead (lead room attendant) is required to promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, & hardworking while also having a willingness to address guest requests or concerns.

Physical Requirements: 
This position demands good physical health. The lead room attendant will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and on occasion lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect all guest rooms for incoming arrivals
  • Liaison between the front desk and housekeeping employees
  • Direct the workforce to accomplish housekeeping goals for that day
  • Checks to make sure all amenities in the room are functional and working properly
  • Ensuring all “lost and found” items properly documented and stored away
  • Adhere to brand standard cleaning requirements
  • Dust all furniture (picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, dressers)
  • Change bed linens
  • Vacuuming and dusting
  • Thoroughly clean the bathroom area—wash shower stall, sink, floor, toilet, etc.
  • Reports and documents all damage found in a room immediately to supervisor/management
  • Must be able to work efficiently while completing the hotel's standard number of rooms per shift
  • Shut off all lights, TVs, and air conditioners when leaving a room
  • Must be available to work, during the day (9am-5pm) and weekends
  • Additional duties as assigned by housekeeping supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Flexible schedule that may include working on Saturday, Sunday & Holidays.
  • Computer skills a necessity
  • Multi-task and detailed oriented
  • Professional & positive attitude
  • Must be a hard worker with the ability to work independently
  • Physically fit and be able to climb stairs numerous times during the day
  • Needs to effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management
  • No previous job-related attendance issues

*This role is specific to the weekends while the remaining shifts throughout the week will be worked as a room attendant with additional support and responsibilities as directed by the  Housekeeping Supervisor.
