Human Resources Coordinator

Northview Apartment REIT is growing, and so is our Human Resources team!


Northview Apartment REIT has an immediate opportunity for an HR Coordinator in the Calgary Corporate Office. The HR Coordinator plays a key role in providing day to day HR support for recruitment, on-boarding, compensation and other HR functions. This role is an entry level HR professional position on the HR Generalist career path. 


  • Develop and coordinate job postings and external advertisements using Northview's Applicant Tracking System

  • Leverage ATS functionality for pre-screening, selection, onboarding, tracking, reporting and documentation

  • Identify creative and cost-effective methods for sourcing candidates

  • Develop reports for HR metrics including employee demographics, turnover, online training, vacation tracking, leaves management and other required information

  • Conduct research in support of HR initiatives including policy development and program enhancements

  • Support the on-boarding process including preparing employment contracts/offer letters and enrolment documents

  • Identify gaps in internal processes, procedures and documentation and recommend process improvements

  • Provide input into strategies, policies, procedures and HR initiatives that will ensure corporate objectives are met

  • Assist in developing robust user-friendly HR forms and processes

  • Coordinate annual compensation survey participation including collecting and submitting data

  • Assist with annual compensation cycle including preparing salary and bonus documentation and streamlining the process

  • Maintain functional organization charts using available technology and recommending continuous improvement

  • Assist in developing HR tools and resources including user guides, manuals and workflow/process documents  


  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline and 1 – 3 years’ related experience

  • Has or is working towards CPHR designation

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint)

  • Experience in managing/administering applicant tracking systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A dynamic, results-oriented professional who enjoys working in a team environment and who takes initiative to make things happen

  • Detail-oriented, thorough and able to monitor work for quality

  • Demonstrates business acumen

  • Strong work ethic and able to maintain high level of confidentiality
